Ocala, FL, July 12, 2011 CareSouth Health System, Inc., the largest privately held home health services provider in Georgia, announced today that it has signed an agreement to purchase Florida Palliative Home Care of Lake, Marion and Sumter Counties, a Medicare certified home health agency in Ocala, Florida. The transaction is targeted for completion September 1, 2011.
Effective immediately, the agency will begin doing business as CareSouth Homecare Professionals continuing to serve Lake, Marion and Sumter counties. The current administrator, Sharon Stucky, RN, will remain as Director of Operations/Administrator and the current staff will continue to provide skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, medical social work and home health aide services. The CareSouth transition team will work closely with the Ocala location over the next two months to implement CareSouth policies and processes.
Key areas of transition focus for the Ocala location will be the training and implementation of CareSouths Clinical Specialty programs: Heartwise, Breathwise, Joint Replacement, Balance/Fall Prevention, Diabetes Management, Stroke Rehabilitation and Wound Care. Additionally, the agency will begin offering CareSouth Alert CareSouths medical alert product, as well as CareSouth Connect, a state-of-the-art telehealth program. In the upcoming months, CareSouths point-of-care documentation system will be implemented and all staff will receive extensive customer service training. CareSouth will also work with the agency to obtain ACHC accreditation by year end.
The acquisition marks the third CareSouth home health agency in Florida and is a component of the companys strategic plan of growth through acquisition and development.
